NEW BAR ALERT! The Baily Room Opening In The East End

More food, more wine! East End Cellars has opened the door of it’s new offering, The Baily Room.

Following great anticipation, Adelaide’s leading cellars, East End Cellars is opening the door of its new offering next door, ‘The Baily Room’, an extension of the popular Tasting Room in Vardon Avenue.

East End Cellars owner, Michael Andrewartha said, “Building on the success of our business, The Baily Room gives us the capacity to do more…..more food, more wine, and more chances to share our passion of wine.”

The space continues to create the feeling of being immersed in a wine cellar, with a feature wall of beautiful national and international wine box ends, and timber beams using recycled timber from the old Tatachilla winery in McLaren Vale.

Mr Andewartha said: “Behind every drop, there’s always a good story, and there’s no exception here when it came to branding the new room.”

“It was named after Martin Baily, he employed me as a trainee assistant manager at the then famous Baily & Baily in the eighties. “I was given the honour to develop and manage the second flagship store. It is this mentorship, insight and experience that fuelled my passion.”

“I have been in the wine industry for the better part of 30 years now, and I am proud to name this room in honour of a true wine legend.”

The Baily Room expansion provides more space for functions and events, with a new kitchen including state of the art catering facilities.

The Tasting and Baily Rooms will now be able to accommodate 120 people and 50 people in the outside café-dining area.

It’s the ideal venue to host exclusive wine events including masterclasses in fine wines, spirits and vertical tastings.  It will play host to visiting winemakers overseas and interstate, as well as educational tastings for students or semi-professionals, and sommeliers.

The Baily Room will host Adelaide Uni and TAFE students studying their WESET diplomas later this year.

Mr Andrewartha said: “We will double the range of our charcuterie and cheese offering, including fresh artisan bread seven days a week, for consumption in the bar and to take-away, always maintaining a heavy influence on Australian and South-Australian products.

“Time poor tourists can visit us and sample the best from our local regions, like our full-bodied Barossa and Coonawarra reds, crisp clean Rieslings from the Clare Valley or delicate Pinots from the Adelaide Hills. Penfolds vertical tastings will be a tempting premium option for wine aficionados.”

“And there will be some good fun events and classes such as cocktail making, beer brewing and a gin prohibition class about the journey of gin.”

Featuring a 360-degree vineyard scene painting by local artist Nick Philips, the new Baily Room is a stunning addition to the Tasting Room.

The original Tasting Room opened just over 3 years ago and has been a popular East End wine destination ever since. It is the ultimate experience for people to taste, enjoy and experience wine in relaxing, urban style.

Contributing to the vibrancy of the East End precinct, this new multi-million dollar capital investment will boost the local business economy with new employment, increased foot traffic, tourism attractions, and more capacity for East End events such as Fringe.

With over 5,000 bottles on show and striking wooden beams from landmark South Australian wineries, the Tasting Room is a spectacular venue featuring a glass-fronted room adorned with wall-to-wall Burgundies and many other premium wines. Being Australia’s leading premium wine merchants, East End Cellars showcases more varieties, from more regions (both from Australia and internationally) and have more award-winning wines than any other cellar in Australia.

The Baily Room connects with The Tasting Room on Vardon Avenue and will be open from this evening (20 October). Stay up to date via their Facebook page or website here.
