Uros Mikic, Creative Director of Adelaide’s Kinky Curly Straight hair salon has been announced the Global winner of the Best Men’s photo category in the Association of International Professional Press awards (AIPP), the most prestigious hairdressing photographic competition in the world.
Uros is the only Australian hairdresser to win an award in the 2015/2016 competition; a true acknowledgement of the international appeal of his work, and cementing his place as one of the world’s most influential hair artists.
Regarded as the benchmark of photographic excellence in the global hairdressing industry, this is Uros’ 1st win in the AIPPs in a year that boasts a NEW participation record of over 600 photographic collections from 34 countries around the globe, with 20 finalists announced in each category.
Judged by over 70 esteemed international trade magazine editors and publishers from 35 countries around the world, the Best Men’s Collection category is judged on the collection that recognises and pays tribute to the marked increase of interest in men’s hair fashion.
Uros’ winning collection Streets of New York showcases his signature creative hair artistry, underpinned by a simple understated elegance, with a raw urban edge. His work has now proven to set standards in hair fashion around the world.
The AIPP Awards 2015-2016 Ceremony will take place during the world’s most renowned hairdressing event, the Alternative Hair Show 2015 @ the prestigious Royal Albert Hall, London (UK) on Sunday, October 11th, 2015.
At this event, the AIPP Grand Trophy will be awarded to the overall winner – the creator of the collection that best reflects the characteristics described in each of the single categories.
