The blue swimmer crab brunch worth road-tripping to Yorke Peninsula for

Sitting on the water’s edge of Wallaroo, this little cafe is serving up local Blue Swimmer crab dishes on its all-day brunch menu that you have to try!

Pack the car – we’ve found a brunch that’s worth a roadtrip.

North Beach Kitchen in Wallaroo on the Yorke Peninsula has indulgent blue swimmer crab dishes on the menu for both breakfast and lunch!

“Our local crab is extremely fresh from Spencer Gulf Crab Fishers and processed locally, in fact, it doesn’t leave Yorke Peninsula at all,” says Lisa Hawson, who has owned and operated North Beach Kitchen with husband Matt for just over two years.

“The blue crab is simply amazing and has fast become our signature dish on our brunch menu.”

The Blue Swimmer Crab Scramble with Chilli is the standout favourite. Also popular is the other blue crab menu item; the Local Blue Swimmer Crab Roll, which features fresh crab, kewpie and iceberg lettuce on a baguette.

North Beach Kitchen, or NBK as the locals call it, is a unique venue for the Yorke Peninsula as it is right on the beachfront. It has extensive outdoor seating all with gorgeous uninterrupted sea views.

“Lots of tourists love it because catching crabs can be hit and miss,” Matt said.

“This way you can just eat fresh local crab without the mess and hard work!”

On top of the delicious crab options, North Beach Kitchen has an extensive menu featuring local produce and catering for vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free diets.

They also serve Five Senses speciality coffee and have an array of drinks including Pimms, gin, beer and wine.

They’re open 8am-4pm on weekends and 8am-2pm weekdays, except Tuesdays (closed).

North Beach Kitchen is located at Beachfront, 1 Pamir Court, Wallaroo.
