The Burton Community Hub is officially finished and celebrating with huge grand opening event!

Strap in for a day filled with fun at the Burton Community Hub grand opening event on Sunday 31 July, designed for all ages and free for all!

It’s the sense of belonging, the comfort of security and the honest connection that makes being part of a community so important. Surrounding yourself with those around you turn your house into a home and your suburb into a neighbourhood.

Getting to know those around you is important, but can also be difficult which is why community centres are such a great initiative. Not only do they encourage connection but also serve as a great place to hold local events, classes and workshops.

The Burton Community Hub has recently been renovated and it is finally open and ready for the local community to enjoy everything it has to offer and it’s all kicking off with its massive grand opening party on July 31st.

The upcoming event is designed for all ages and is free for all!

From 11am till 3:30pm, the public will be able to enjoy the free activities and entertainment on offer, which include amusement rides, piñata crafts, face painting, origami, and a planting demonstration and learning about up-cycling in the garden. There really is something for everyone!

The new hub will be a welcoming and unified space that Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM says “will bring together a range of services within one vibrant, adaptable space to be used by the whole community”.

A few exciting new programs and services will be introduced at the revitalised hub, such as a new library, a communal garden, a showcase of indigenous culture and intercultural opportunities, gaming and filming equipment, and creative technologies and digital literacy programs.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase on the day, including Yiros Hub, Maxine’s Baked Potatoes, hot donuts, fairy floss from Candy Zone for all you sweet tooth’s, and of course a sausage sizzle.

For the kids (and adults – we don’t judge!), showbags will be on offer, and a special guest appearance from an Adelaide United soccer player can be expected!

We encourage you to come and support the City of Salisbury at the opening, and prepare for a jam-packed, enjoyable afternoon with your family and friends.
