Get Glittery At Groovin’ The Moo 2018

Groovin’ The Moo is hitting Wayville again this year for it’s second year at the location, and we’ve been told that their community additions are set to be pretty epic!

While Groovin’ the Moo is one of the biggest and well-known annual music festivals around, a beloved aspect of the event is the sheer amount of creative community stations and workshops we can take part in. In 2018 we can expect to see a bunch of community initiatives in all six regions.

Some of the things we can expect to see this year range from local artists showcasing their wares, to work experience for budding festival lovers, and from chill out spaces to programs for disadvantaged youths. Check out an overview of the Community Program for 2018 and some of the workshops we’re most keen for below!

The Maker Station
For Groovin’ The Moo ticket holders, you can have the chance to get involved with some art and craft with DIY experts and the guidance of local artists at each show. This interactive station will be situated near the Universal Store Phone Charging Tent and each region will provide unique and fun offerings! From repurposed milk bottle water holders, to DIY magazines, to body painting and so much more!

Powder Pen
To keep you looking beautiful and fresh this year, GTM’s Powder Pen is returning nationally in 2018! For just a small donation, you can get a quick hair and make-up touch up thanks for to local beauty barbershop and hairdressing salons. A portion of all proceeds from the Powder Pen will go back to the charity of the salon’s choice. So while you enjoy getting a quick and glamorous re-do, you can know your donations are going to a good cause!

Crafternoon Community Workshops
Tying in with the DIY-craft theme this year, GTM is working with local community groups from all around the country who are in the process of creating handmade masterpieces that will come to life at the events. These include the aptly named Sgt. Peppers Homely Arts Club, who have been busy knitting together squares that will cover the fence lines at the Wayville show. Townsville’s Umbrella Art Studio are building giants teepees to create some shady respite from the sun and there’s so much more being created around the country right this very moment!
