The countdown is on! Get rock’n’ and rollin’ with Birds of Tokyo in the Ranges this October

Birds of Tokyo will take centre stage at the Rock the Ranges festival this October alongside other talented Aussie rock musicians.

On we march to Rock the Ranges in a two day festival bringing the very best of rock ‘n’ roll to regional South Australia this October—featuring WA’s breakthrough alternative rock band, Birds of Tokyo and blues rock icons, The Black Sorrows.

Rock the Ranges has only just released the line up for their October event this month, and is set to spoil us this Spring with the best of Australia’s rock and roll musicians in Quorn, SA.

Expect talented Sydney artists Shane Peters (Jake) and Christian Clackson (Elwood) to rock their fashionable fedoras and shades in an authentic tribute to the infectious soul music of The Blues Brothers when they take over Pichi Richi Park on Friday 21 October.

Joining them on the first day will be South Australia’s own Jo Page who started as a passionate shower singer in Port Lincoln but now gigs across regional SA with her band El’Devi. They’ll be bringing the tunes from Jo’s album Once Upon a Gallow as well as the grungy vibe of alternative rock.

The event doesn’t end there with Saturday’s line up set to bless your ears with energetic performances from Hussy Hicks featuring the soul vocals of Leesa Gentz and gifted guitarist Julz Parker who have hit pause on their European tour to attend the event.

Funky Monks will take the stage in an ultimate combination of hip hop, funk and rock as they tribute their performance to none other than the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

You’ll be immersed in tunes from one of the most influential rock bands that came from the 80s, including the RHCP iconic rhythmic guitar, staccato chords and incredible lyricism.

The Black Sorrows who formed in Melbourne in the 1980s and made their way onto the ARIA album charts time and time again, are bringing their mix of rhythm and blues to liven the night.

While Birds of Tokyo, who became an international hit and topped Australian charts in 2013 with their single Lanterns, are spicing up the evening with their take on alternative rock featuring the vocals of Ian Kenny.

You can see the full line up on Rock the Ranges’ Facebook page.

Single Day and Two Day passes are on sale now and can be booked here.
