At First Light is all about the yoga, dancing, healthy eats and good beats at the crack of dawn.

Adelaide’s first healthy morning dance party, At First Light, is turning one!
Inspired by the New York sober rave party scene, At First Light was launched at the Adelaide Torrens Riverbank in April 2016 and has since hosted pop up morning dance parties around Adelaide everywhere from Rundle Mall to Unley, Botanic Gardens to Victoria Square, with over 2,000 people now having attended the morning fitness trend.
At First Light has teamed up with The Parade, Norwood to host their one year anniversary affair at the regal Norwood Concert Hall venue. The event will start with 45 minutes of all ages flow yoga instructed by Andrea Robertson, owner of the two Southside & Eastside Osteopathy and Xtend Barre Clinics, with the yoga being sequenced to music. The dance party will get under way at about 9am with DJ Carmel G getting the party started along with MC Jazz, dancers and live musicians. Including also coffee (because well, who doesn’t need a caffeine fix before 9am!) provided by the new Adelaide organic coffee brand, Well That’s Just Brewed, along with organic health food by Sukha Life, Lorna Jane Pop Shop, gift bags and glitter – because everything is better with glitter!
Don’t fancy yourself a morning person? Leah Kertesz says she’s heard it all before but reinforces At First Light’s motto and the physical and mental health benefits of activity in the morning.
“I get every excuse under the sun, but once people experience it, I receive nothing but positive feedback. At First Light takes the best elements of dance party, but without the hangover. It’s pure fun and guaranteed to make you feel good because sober dancing releases endorphins that make you happy.
“Just say YES once and you’ll be hooked!”
The event is also all ages and free for children under 12. It’s also short enough in duration that you can still hit The Parade for brunch with your friends afterwards.
