The Garden of Unearthly Delights 2013 season opens on Valentine's Day and you are invited to enjoy a most spectacular season of internationally acclaimed performances and carnival fun.

The Garden is arguably Adelaide's favourite arts hub and the biggest independently produced arts festival in the country. Attracting more than 800,000 visitors a year and some of the hottest selling shows from around the world, it is certainly one festival you don't want to miss.

In 2013 The Garden are thrilled to present the cream of international touring acts including CIRCOLOMBIA (Columbia), LEO (Germany), PONYDANCE (Ireland), RUBY WAX (USA) and LA SOIR&EE.

They are excited to bring you new works by FRANK WOODLEY AND SIMON YATES who premiere their 2 hander, INSIDE, at the Sydney Festival in January; Melbourne Fringe Award winners PANTS DOWN CIRCUS; Garden favourites THE CANDY BUTCHERS; and Strut & Fret Production House whose latest offering, LIMBO, will blow your mind.

Some of our dearest Garden friends return this year including WIL ANDERSON, TOM THUM, HEATH FRANKLIN'S CHOPPER, SAM SIMMONS, THE MAGNETS, TOM GLEESON, ABANDOMAN, TEX PERKINS, RENEE GEYER, EAST END CABARET, CRAIG HILL, MICKEY D and SMART CASUAL.

Plus theyhave so much more in store…  Productions big and small, new and exciting, for the young and the not-so-young, from here and overseas. All hand picked for your entertainment.

CIRCOLUMBIA

The best of the Colombian National circus school, CIRCOLOMBIA takes you through the poetry and violence of street life with a pounding reggaeton soundtrack and volcanic force. A tale of confrontation and redemption, of gangs and individual freedom, of poetics and cruelty. High-octane performance infused with wild, perfectly mastered acrobatics.

THE CANDY BUTCHERS

The Candy Butchers return to lead you on an exquisitely macabre journey into an imaginary neo-vaudevillian sideshow era. Delicately touching, visually enchanting and refreshingly dark, these contemporary circus luminaries blend the perverse with the poetic to create circus with a heart… a twisted black one. Winner: Most Outstanding Production' Melbourne Fringe.

LIMBO

Destined to be the highlight of the 2013 Garden program &; from the award-winning company behind international success stories, Cantina and Tom Tom Crew. Don't miss LIMBO's world premiere before it transfers to London for a 5 month season. Join the strange, transcendent and hypnotic for a celebration of otherworldly proportions.

PANTS DOWN CIRCUS

Perfect for all ages, Pants Down Circus is an ensemble of highly skilled, charming and energetic performers, who are among the circus elite in Australia. Winner of the 2012 Melbourne Fringe award for BEST CIRCUS, this show presents an astonishing number of world class circus acts.

LEO
15 FEB to 16 MAR (EXCL. 18 and 25 FEB, 4 and 11 MAR) at 7 PM  17 and 24 FEB, 3 and 10 MAR at 4 PM
LEO – what would happen if the laws of gravity suddenly changed? A funny, surreal, and touching work that leaves you wondering which way is up. The newest creation from the producers of SOAP, LEO tests perceptions of reality and has dazzled audiences in Edinburgh, New York & now Adelaide!

THE MAGNETS

An evening of glorious harmonies and jaw-dropping beatboxing from acclaimed British vocal group The Magnets, celebrating five decades of British pop music, from the Beatles and Led Zeppelin to Adele. HOMEGROWN is a sonically stunning, TOTALLY a cappella new show from one of the break-through acts of Fringe 2012.

PONYDANCE:  ANYBODY WAITIN'?

Everybody loves 'the Ponies'. Who knew dance could be so funny? A disco infused time warp where incredible moves, slick routines and laugh out loud comedy collide. Their dance moves are sharp but their comic timing is even sharper.  WINNER 2012 BANKSA BEST DANCE AWARD

Frank Woodley and Simon Yates (Acrobat) have teamed up to create an extraordinary new show. Caged and subjected to absurd experiments the twins dream of escape. With incredible comic audacity, Inside is simultaneously a dystopian hell-hole and a world of hilarious and heart-breaking nonsense. Beautiful and bleak.  Horrifying and funny.
