The Garden of Unearthly Delights has officially opened its heavenly gates

The Garden of Unearthly Delights, one of Australia’s favourite outdoor performance precincts, is set to open its heavenly gates this weekend for a glittering six-week season.

The Garden of Unearthly Delights, one of Australia’s favourite outdoor performance precincts, is set to open its heavenly gates this weekend for a glittering six-week season, running from Friday February 14th to Sunday March 23rd, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Opening one week earlier than the Adelaide Fringe, The Garden will be in full swing and is gearing up for its most extraordinary season yet, with more than 80 dazzling shows, including 20 World and Australian premieres and 18 award-winning Garden debuts, along with the return of many beloved favourites and internationally renowned acts.

With a mix of world-class magic, comedy, circus, cabaret, music and loads of family fun, the opening weekend offers loved ones the perfect place to celebrate this Valentine’s Day weekend.

Delve into some fabulous immersive experiences including the world premiere of Dream State, an enchanting new interactive journey through light, sound and projection, and INVISIBLE, an Australian premiere offering a thrilling ASMR experience inside a shipping container, where audiences explore what it means to be truly present.

Experience the World Premiere of La Ronde, an intoxicating mix of cabaret, circus and acrobats with amazing performers from around the world, along with the globally celebrated return of LIMBO.

The Garden also boasts the biggest lineup of world-class comedians at the Adelaide Fringe, with performances by stars like Ross Noble, Dave Hughes, Lawrence Mooney, Tommy Little, Ruby Wax and, and Peter Rowsthorn. Fans of Andrew Hansen, Mel Buttle and Geraldine Hickey, have to get in quick though, as they are only running their shows during the first week!

Food lovers can also enjoy a sumptuous pre or post show dinner at Africola Canteen’s brand new on site restaurant The Flamin’ Galah, where Duncan Welgemoed will showcase his signature cooking style using South Australia’s largest firepit. Bookings are now available via the Garden’s website at The Flamin’ Galah | The Garden of Unearthly Delights.

For the thrill-seekers, The Garden will have all their popular rides on offer, as well as the iconic ferris wheel, for those who are after something a little slower paced, where you can take in the glistening views of Adelaide in the summertime, or the city’s bright lights during the night.

With a commitment to accessibility and inclusivity, the 2025 season also boasts an abundance of free entertainment and programming designed to welcome audiences from all walks of life.

Michelle Buxton, Co-Director of The Garden of Unearthly Delights, shared her enthusiasm for the unmissable season.

“We could not be more excited to open the 2025 season of The Garden! With so many incredible new works and experiences on offer this season, Gardeners are sure to be captivated, entertained and inspired from the moment they step through the gates.

“We are also delighted to present some of our greatest shows during the afternoon on Fridays – perfect for people who want to avoid the peak times in The Garden, and enjoy the best we have to offer without all the hustle and bustle.

“The Garden truly is heaven on earth, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another unforgettable year!”
