The German Village Shop opens in Hahndorf

The German Village Shop has opened a gorgeous new location with cuckoo clocks, nutcrackers, beer steins & more on Hahndorf’s main street.

We know it’s now winter, but this adorable new gift shop will transport you to Christmas time all year round.

The German Village Shop has opened a gorgeous new location on Hahndorf’s main street after moving from their previous spot. The new shop is modeled after a German home during Christmas time, adorned with tudor-style walling, giant nutcracker statues, and a toy train chugging along red tracks that line the ceiling.

As the home to Australia’s largest cuckoo clock, the multi-room store has a corner dedicated to them, as well as beautifully arranged shelves lined with other German gifts. They have a big range of small village German homes, nutcrackers, and beer steins, including the world’s largest stein.

Owners Justin and Rebecca decided to move the family business from their original location when they realised their big ideas for their gift shop wouldn’t fit in their previous building. However, they still remained in Hahndorf; As Australia’s oldest German settlement and home to all things German, the town is the perfect location for their carefully curated array of German gifts.

“We source traditional German products direct from Germany,” Rebecca says.

“It’s our mission to provide people with German heritage or a love for German culture the opportunity to bring a touch of German tradition into their homes!”

To purchase adorable Germanic gifts or just to get your fill of child-like Christmas nostalgia, head to the new German Village Shop.

The shop is open every day 10am – 5pm. Find them online here.
