It’s been three decades since Australian rock legends, INXS and Jimmy Barnes took the stage at Thebarton Oval for Australian Made.

Plans are being made to revamp and revive the 5-city concert series that took place in Adelaide on January 1, 1987.

Mental As Anything, the Divinyls and the Models were just some of the iconic 80s bands who graced the stage at this event, playing to over 30,000 attendees.

The SANFL recently applied to the West Torrens Council to host a version of the event which would likely take place on the 2021 New Year’s Day.

The proposed event would kick off at around 11am and run until 11pm with performances from six to eight Australian bands.

If the event does get the go-ahead it would need to undergo a COVID Management Plan which would need to be approved by SA Health.

This proposal is expected to be up for discussion at the next West Torrens Council meeting.
