Marking two decades since their debut album “Hot Fuss” topped the ARIA charts, The Killers are set to return to Australia for a series of concerts in November and December 2024. The iconic rock band will perform in Townsville, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, providing fans across the country with an opportunity to experience their dynamic live shows.
Adelaide has been missed from the schedule, but given the timing of the tour, we are holding out a glimmer of hope that perhaps they’ll be a headline act at the VAILO Adelaide 500, which is also happening this November. The VAILO Adelaide 500 runs from November 14-17.
This Killers Australian tour has a particular significance as it commemorates the 20-year journey of band in the music industry. To celebrate this milestone, the Killers will host two special concerts in Sydney and Melbourne. One will be a “Rebel Diamonds” concert, showcasing the band’s greatest hits, while the other will feature a complete performance of “Hot Fuss,” promising a few additional surprises for attendees.
These Australian dates start with a concert in Townsville, marking the first time The Killers will play in the tropical north Queensland city. The tour will also include the “Rebel Diamonds” concert in each city, except for Melbourne and Sydney where fans will enjoy the dedicated “Hot Fuss” performance as their second show.
The recent release of their new single “Bright Lights,” described as ‘anthemic’ by Rolling Stone and ‘euphoric’ by NME, adds excitement to their upcoming tour. Reception to their performances of this track at their Las Vegas residency has been highly positive, fueling anticipation for their shows in Australia.
Tickets for these much-anticipated concerts will go on sale shortly, with presales starting from 10 September and general sales commencing on 12 September. Given their past popularity in Australia, which includes a memorable AFL Grand Final performance in 2017, early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
