The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Gala Concert 2012

Adelaide Town Hall will come alive with the sound of Christmas music next Tuesday 4th December with The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Gala Concert.

For the second year running, the concert will be led by Artistic Director Andrew Jefferis, and will feature performances by the Synergy Handbell Ensemble, Gabi Okoe from Ticklish Allsorts and the Scotch College Pipes and Drums Ensemble.

The Adelaide Balalaikas – a delegation from the Russian Community Centre and The Police Dixie Jazz Band will entertain before a very special visit from Father Christmas himself.

Ted Schwerdt will captivate the audience reading from the Charles Dicken’s classic A Christmas Carol, taking people back to Bob Cratchit’s house in London, with the help of Black Cat Theatre actors.

“Come along and celebrate the festive season with me, there’ll be story-telling, Christmas carols and sing-alongs for people of all ages to enjoy,” Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood said.

“Get your friends and family together and join in this great afternoon of entertainment.”

The concert will be held from 12.30pm to 2.30pm in the Town Hall Auditorium and will include a 20 minute interval for tea, coffee and biscuits.

“Seats are selling fast, so get in quick and make sure you join me for an afternoon of fun,” Stephen said.
