While sitting at her kitchen table, Jo Madi, owner of Jo Madi Active started her very own fashion label crediting many long nights and copious cups of coffee for the development of the business.

Designer, food scientist and a mum; there is nothing this woman can’t do.

Jo Madi Active started in 2020 just before the peak of the pandemic and has managed to grow her business locally and internationally, all the while trying to give back to the community.

Always having a keen interest in fashion from a young age, Jo would scribble designs for clothing, longing to be creative until she found the right time to start her business.

“I felt like it was the right time in my life. I was ready to take the next step. I had always felt the need to do something like this.

“I have a passion for being active and I felt a need to give back to society.

In between teaching herself new skateboarding tricks and roaming the neighbourhood on her bike; Jo is immersed in her mum’s fashion magazines, marvelling at the classic styles.

“I decided to start a fashion label because I felt there was a gap in the market for high quality, fun and affordable active wear for everyday women.

“We wanted to put a focus on active women who want to wear something comfortable and stylish and a little more conservative to what is currently out there.

“It’s a business for the people, by the people.

Jo graduated with a degree in Food Science and Nutrition and brought two beautiful children into the world all the while working as a full time Account Manager.

Products are designed locally by Jo herself and she endeavours one day to open a bricks and mortar store in Adelaide.

The group has a strong focus on community outreach and is sponsoring the Sandy Running Festival in Semaphore on 9 April 2022.

The new release of the Autumn/Winter Jo Madi Active range will drop in April.

Jo Madi Active can be found online HERE or at Pulp and Thread in the Barossa and Riverland Premier Sports.
