Adelaide’s newest creative start-up, The Love Lettery, is bringing old school romance back to the CBD with a passion for perfectly penned prose, stunning date-night surprises and a new twist on classic gift hampers.
Affectionately dubbed ‘Swoon HQ’, The Love Lettery is the brainchild of two Adelaide cupids, Ella Walker and Sonia Mir who have turned their love of words and romance into a gift emporium with a difference.
“We like to joke that we’re the anti-Tinder”, say Ella and Sonia, “There’s no swiping right here, it’s all about taking the time to create personalised gifts and experiences to wow that somebody special.”
Armed with a plan to spread a bit of love across the city, The Love Lettery is home to the city’s ‘Love Notice Board’ where people can post a love-note, leave a message or search for ‘the one’ with a missed connections exchange. Think – ‘I saw you on the Belair Train line at 4pm last Thursday; you were carrying a yellow umbrella’.
“We love the idea that we can help people to locate that mystery girl or guy who caught their eye…It’s all about getting Adelaide to have a bit of fun with love.”
Offering an in-house wordsmithing service to help tongue-tied lovers to say it right, The Love Lettery can also plan and book the perfect romantic experience, be it a first date or a 50th wedding anniversary.
“The Love Lettery offers the complete package when it comes to gifts and experiences, from personalised love letters sealed with a wax stamp, to individual gifts and bespoke hampers for all occasions.”
In store, The Love Lettery offers a beautiful range of predominantly South Australian made gifts, artworks and cards complete with hand-crafted or build-your-own gift hampers with same day delivery, peddle powered throughout the CBD.
The Love Lettery will be activating Shop 11 in Topham Mall rent-free, thanks to Renew Adelaide’s place making program, in partnership with Adelaide City Council.
