The Loved Ones – Best International Feature

Date night, pop-corn munching Aussie horror flick THE LOVED ONES has won the Siren Award for Best International Feature at FANTASTIK FILM FESTIVAL.

Held in Lund, Sweden between September 23 – October 2, 2010, the Lund International Fantastik Film Festival selected THE LOVED ONES as their movie favourite over genre success-story Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.
The critical acclaim has not stopped since THE LOVED ONES picked up the audience favourite prize, the Cadillac People’s Choice Award, in the Midnight Madness competition at the Toronto International Film Festival last year.

Director Sean Byrne was given special recognition at the Edmonton International Film Festival when he received a Special Jury Prize – Rising Star Award.“McLeavy is so good you can almost smell her insanity.” – FANGORIA

Sean said of the enthusiastic response “I’ve been overwhelmed by the positive critical and audience reaction to the film. People laugh, scream, jump, peek between their fingers and even talk to the screen. It’s a fun roller coaster ride with loops in unexpected places and I’m so excited Australian audiences now have the chance to experience The Loved Ones on the big screen.”

International film media have hailed Robin McLeavy’s performance as “Princess” in THE LOVED ONES as “iconic”, “magnetic” and “horrifying”.
