Adelaide Wine Markets are switching it up this Winter, and are ready to welcome the cooler temperatures with an array of delicious dark beers from South Australian breweries!

The Winter Dark Beer Festival is coming together to celebrate South Australian small-batch breweries with an event that is sure to keep you warm and cosy.

Join them at the rustic The Market Shed on Holland this Sunday the 26th of May for three delicious hours, tasting an incredible lineup of local dark beers and other beer styles, plus some sprits from Tin Shed Distilling and seltzers from South Ave.

With a range of breweries coming together, expect to taste the best of SA. From the Uraidla Brewery in the Adelaide Hills, to Barossa Valley Brewing, to Shapeshifter Brewing in Findon, (and everywhere in between), prepare to enjoy dark beers from here, there and everywhere.

What’s a dark beer you ask? Well, it’s a beer that is dark brown or almost black in colour, with distinctly rich and more filling characteristics. Dark beer has been hugely popular throughout centuries of beer drinking. The intense colour of dark ale is due to a longer malt roasting during the brewing process, which brings out delicious flavours like roast coffee, dark chocolate and more.

Luckily, you don’t have to be a beer connoisseur to enjoy yourself at this dark beer fest, and alongside darker brews you’ll also be able to try more beer styles from the local labels all in one space – it’s a beer feast!

Throughout the event, kick back to live music and break up your beer tastings by perusing vintage clothes shops like Vintage Pizza, Three Sixty, Penny For Your Threads, and Little Miss Waste Not Vintage. It is sure to be a day not to miss!
