It’s no longer a mockery or embarrassing to want an iconic Instagram post. In fact, Instagram has become a viable career for the amateur photography savvy and made extremely easy by the multitude of gorgeous spots in Adelaide.

We’ve compiled a list of the most Instagrammable spots in Adelaide and South Australia for your benefit.

Adelaide Botanic Garden

This one’s full of stunning places for photos. From the glasshouse, the lake to the numerous beaten pathways ensconced in trees, the Adelaide Botanic Garden is an iconic spot for locals and tourists for a photo.

Southport Beach, Onkaparinga River Mouth

It’s one of the most glorious staircases, looking over to the Onkaparinga River Mouth. Heading to these will guarantee you a gorgeous snap (and burning thighs).

Maggie Beer Farm Shop Lake

It’s a beautiful spot to stop by for lunch, a wine or coffee. If you’re lucky a rainbow will also be in attendance.

Between The Vines Vineyard

This Adelaide Hills winery has a few arched windows which make perfect backdrop for a snap.

Mortlock Library

Straight out of Harry Potter, the Mortlock Wing State Library of South Australia makes great setting for wedding or graduation pictures.

Himeji Japanese Garden

Gifted by our sister city in the ’80s, The Himeji Japanese Garden is a hidden oasis in the CBD.

Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens

Potentially its most gorgeous during Autumn, the Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens are shades of yellow, orange and red for a few months which make perfect seasonal outing.

Mount Barker Train Tunnel

Another seasonal spot that during Autumn is bathed in golden shades.

Kuitpo Forest

The most moody and atmospheric place in South Australia. Kuitpo spans many kilometres and it’s a wedding DREAM. Literally anywhere in Kuitpo is Instragrammable.

The d’Arenberg Cube

It’s a stunning winery with amazing wine but it also has the most surreal building in South Australia. The award winning Cube draws visitors from all around the world and it’s a must.

Bird in Hand Winery Door

You’re bound to have seen this one, the pale beige wooden door that every visitor no doubt seeks, with good reason.

Darling Building

Pearly white and simply beautiful, the Darling Building makes the perfect backdrop for a candid picture.

Garden Island Ship Graveyard

This one is harder to access and frankly harder to photograph, given you’ll be kayaking/canoeing to but it’s so worth it. The Ship Graveyard seems to be from another time in history. Plus, the rest of Garden Island is equally Instagram worthy.

MiaMargarita Henley

One of Adelaide’s hottest new bars is also an Insta haven. Pink and fluorescent, it’s the perfect combo for a snap when you’re on a cheeky night out.

Lake Bumbunga

One of the most gorgeous salt lake, which depending on the day can be so vividly pink, Bumbunga is only two hours out of the CBD. It’s also the regional equivalent of a step away from the Clare Valley.

O’Sullivans Beach

Sunset here glances off the numerous rocks at the shore and creates thousands of gorgeous silhouettes. And if you’re by the old Port Stanvac Fence, it looks like the gates to heaven, no exaggeration!
