Norwood’s Elixir Skin Fitness has expanded, with a new chic clinic room. Rose opened her boutique skin health clinic on the Parade at Norwood four years ago and has since been voted as Adelaide’s best skin clinic by none other than Vogue Australia. A darned big accolade for a small non-franchised and relatively new beauty salon.
Rose has been working in the skin health industry for over 20 years and is highly trained and experienced in dermal therapies and laser safety. She prides herself on continuing her professional development and growth, to bring the up-to-the-minute and superlative technology, treatments and products to her clients. She prides herself on giving a truly personalised service to every client, and offers skin consultations and diagnoses, personal skin care training, varied solutions for diverse skin conditions, and bespoke treatments to achieve younger looking, healthier skin.
“My main goal at Elixir Skin Fitness is to help women, and men, feel comfortable in their own skin. My treatments help to enhance their natural beauty and ensure their skin is the healthiest it can be,” says Rose. It’s clear that this isn’t just a job for Rose – she lives and breathes her work with passion.
An advocate for eating in a way that supports your skin, part of her unique consultation includes a dietary analysis. Rose explains, “during the initial consultation an individual programme is designed for my clients, with the goal to also empower clients with the knowledge they need to make better choices regarding the health of their skin. It’s an innovative and holistic approach to skin health, taking into consideration the internal factors that affect skin from the inside; gut health, diet, contraception, medication and hormones. External factors include your environment, lifestyle, makeup, skin care products, supplementation, stress levels, exercise and mindfulness”.
It just so happens that I had a personal consultation with Rose recently. As someone in her early (naughty?) forties and really waging war on those evil little fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation, I had been looking for the right person to entrust my skin health to for the long term – as opposed to popping by a random clinic for a discounted micro dermabrasion every now and then when I score a Groupon deal.
I came across Elixir Skin Fitness on social media, and after reading more about Rose I booked in for a free consultation. The very busy Rose gave me her undivided attention for a solid half hour, where she took pages of notes on everything to do with my current skincare regime, general health, lifestyle and diet. This research is what Rose uses to map out a personalised plan for every client, and it was a truly unique experience.
Rose introduced me to her beloved Medik8 range of skincare, lightly suggesting that I start to prepare my skin for upcoming treatments by incorporating a product or two. It so happens that am a self-proclaimed product junkie, and happily took home a gorgeous vitamin C serum to start with, which I have since been using daily (with no break-outs – woohoo). The products in this incredible range are fast-absorbing, non-greasy and super active, and I am now a complete devotee who will slowly collect every single one of the glorious little glass vials of magic like a crazed child amassing Coles Little Shop mini collectables.
Rose emailed me a day after my consultation with a detailed program outlining the different treatments she had selected for my personal skin goals, and the associated costs. All in all it was a refreshingly different experience, and spending some time in Rose’s company left me feeling positive and excited about staring my own skincare journey in her hands, and daring to bare my face makeup-free in the near future.
