As fans across the world anxiously count down until the much-anticipated Friends reunion airs on the 27th of May, the Friends-frenzy continues in Australia with the announcement of ‘FRIENDS! The Musical’, coming to Adelaide this September.
Promising an evening of laughter and heartwarming nineties nostalgia, FRIENDS! The Musical lovingly pokes fun at the some of the show’s iconic moments that have become embedded in pop culture, promising an evening that’s as sweet and surprising as a slice of beef trifle.
Adapting the classic sitcom into a theatre show seems a natural transition, as the gang of good-looking New Yorkers never shied away from flexing their musical muscles. Whether it was entertaining the coffee-drinkers at Central Perk with ‘Smelly Cat’, Joey’s successful run in Freud! The Musical or one of Ross’s intimate apartment performances on the keyboard, a talented young cast will be bringing the ‘Big Apple’ down under in the debut performance of this fast-paced new musical.
Boasting credits in some of theatre’s biggest shows such as Wicked, Legally Blonde and The King and I, a lengthy audition process has unveiled a host of fresh new faces as the Friends characters we know and love.

The cast announcement for the Australian tour comes just as Jennifer Anniston teased an emotional trailer for the televised reunion on her Instagram.
Despite 27 years since the airing of the first episode, Friends fever still clearly has its grip on the fans across the world, with many dates of the musical tour selling out faster than you can say ‘we were on a break!’
Tickets are still left for FRIENDS! The Musical in Adelaide, which will be entertaining audiences for two nights at Her Majesty’s Theatre on the 24th and 25th of September.
