Oui! It’s true. La Vigne Bar has just opened on The Parade right next door to sister cafe and French patisserie, La Madeleine.
The bar promises an intimate, laid-back vibe with sunlight drenching the cosy nook. There’s plenty of French vino to pair with your (wait for it) CHEESE PLATTER because it’s surely humanely impossible to have great wine without cheese.
Bar Manager, Owen Colin, says he wants La Vigne to be “a place where people can bring their dogs or to be able get off the bus stop outside and pop in after work before they head home”.
“There’s lots of places in Norwood, but nothing quite this relaxed and intimate!”

Inside, La Vigne, has stayed true to the minimalistic decor we’ve come to love at La Madeleine. You’re instantly at ease, surrounded by a fireplace and cushy chairs.
The spacious beer garden comes to life with bright-blue walls splashed against timber, cast iron fit outs, and beautiful red flowers. The mural is also epic selfie-territory!

La Vigne will be serving a mix of French, European-wines and of course, a nice selection of SA’s own. They’re looking to cater to the crowds however, and really go the flow of demand. The guys specifically chose French wines with no more than four words on the label of each bottle so that people wouldn’t be scared off by the hoity-toity expectations.
With the success of La Madeleine, owner William Blanc, is opening another cafe at Marion Shopping Centre. We really can’t get enough of these guys.
