The State Opera of South Australia is proud to present its latest production, The Pearl Fishers (Les Pêcheurs de Perles), showing at the Adelaide Festival Theatre for one week only.
Georges Bizet’s romantic tale of love, jealousy and redemption centres on Zurga and his friend Nadir and their love for the beautiful priestess Leila, in the land of the pearl fishers on the coast of Ceylon.
This visually captivating production has a beautiful score by Bizet which overflows with dramatic energy, and also features the infamous ‘In the depths of the Temple’ duet between Zurga and Nadir.
Conducted by Luke Dollman and featuring the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and State Opera Chorus, this spellbinding story is not to be missed.
