The countdown is on to Christmas Day and all of the present giving and receiving. Are you feeling the pressure? Seriously how is time going so quickly? The big day will be here before we even know it and we haven’t even made a dent in our Christmas present list…

Luckily we have our resident home styling/decorating/shopping/organising expert, Sarah Shanahan to keep us on track when it comes to finding the perfect pressies. This week she tells us all about one of her fave shops in Adelaide:

You will find it tucked away along the beautiful The Strand in Colonel Light Gardens. An absolutely gorgeous, bright, colourful and cheerful homewares store full of everything from handmade cushions (their specialty) and a range of other delightful goodies. Little Bohemian

Little Bohemian has always been a must visit on my shopping tours and let me tell you why…

The products are just as stunning is the owner herself, Leah Viney. Leah has been running her own cushion company since 2011, mainly from home and also appearing at various markets and pop ups around Adelaide. But because her cushions are so damn cool, high demand meant that she could open up shop. And she did so in February of 2014 much to my delight.

Leah has a special appreciation for natural fibres and hand screen printed fabric that she sources from close to home and across the globe. Her incredible eye for detail is obvious, with love, time and effort poured into every cushion from start to finish. The hum of the sewing machine can often be heard when you enter the store. Each cushion is unique, creating a bespoke look for your home. No mass production here!

While cushions are at the heart of Leah’s day to day operations, she also sources an eclectic mix of other products from abroad, but really tries to showcase the works of local designers. Tiff Manuell and Rhi Creative are a highlight and compliment to this vibrant store. Throws, lighting, rugs, candles, handbags, small furniture, books and jewellery can all be found here.
