Robern Menz Resurrects The Polly Waffle

We welcome back an old friend – the Polly Waffle, as Robern Menz obtains the sweet treat from Nestlé.

Polly Waffle lovers, the long wait is over. The chocolate bar is coming back! Fourth generation family owned Australian confectionery company, Robern Menz, has signed an agreement with Nestlé to obtain the beloved Polly Waffle brand and trademark – a small step for man, a giant leap for South Australian-kind. Robern Menz will also get their hands on the famous recipe, and plan to undertake the production of the Polly Waffle’s in their Adelaide factory. Since its discontinuation in 2009, the Polly Waffle has been missed by many – including the 55K Facebook members petitioning to ‘Bring Back The Polly Waffle’. Robern Menz CEO, Phil Sims says, “Australia’s food production industry is important to our future economy and sustainability. We believe our role and contribution is keeping as much manufacturing here as possible and creating jobs, and we’ve been doing this for over 150 years.” The sale comes just 12 months after the South Australian based company announced the acquisition of Violet Crumble from Nestlé, which the company began producing and distributing in October 2018. Nestlé Business Executive Officer, Chris O’Donnell says, “We wish Robern Menz the best of luck in bringing it back and giving Australia’s Polly Waffle lovers the opportunity to enjoy it once again.” Congrats Robern Menz!
