“Sport is such a powerful vehicle for change. When we equally include girls and women and celebrate their strength, physicality, and power, it transforms attitudes about their roles in sport and everywhere else,” Katrine Hildyard, Minister for Women, said.
The launch of the Power of Her 2025 Recognition Awards follows the success of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where the concept was introduced through a highly successful “Women in Leadership Symposium.” The event brought together over 1,000 attendees to discuss advancing gender equality in sport.
Nominations for the awards are open now and will close on Tuesday February 11th. Winners will be announced at an event held on International Women’s Day, Wednesday March 12th.
