The Precinct at Alberton officially opens this Friday after 6-month redevelopment

The new facility includes a new upstairs bar and kitchen, an interactive museum experience, and one of the largest trophy cabinets in the southern hemisphere.

So long Port Club and hello The Precinct! The home to the Port Adelaide Football Club has just undergone a significant renovation, with the new social club facility now to be known as “The Precinct at Alberton”. Open to the public from Friday 24th June onwards.

The new facility includes a brand new upstairs bar and kitchen, an interactive museum and retail experience, a central fireplace, one of the largest trophy cabinets in the southern hemisphere and interiors that give a nod to Port Adelaide’s industrial history.

Polished concrete, timber, stone, pressed red bricks, and steel are used throughout the venue to reference Port Adelaide’s maritime roots.

As well as a glass keg room, wine closet and an on-site Yoder meat smoker, the bar and kitchen will also have an open-viewing keg room and large deck area that extends out into the grandstand space.

Floor to ceiling steel-cut bi-fold windows will open onto the viewing and entertainment deck laid with jarrah. A handcrafted mesh balustrade also lines the deck, set into posts cut from 160-year-old pylons that once held up the Port River wharves.

Inside, the bar features huge television screens, perfect for viewing all the biggest sports events live. Outside, catch iconic views of Alberton Oval and, from a distance, the vista of the Adelaide Hills.

The bar will stock a large selection of South Australian wines and beers including Sidewood Estate and Pirate Life.

As well as the bar and kitchen, the new Port Adelaide Museum will be a key part of The Precinct at Alberton, showcasing the club’s rich 151-year history.

Located on the bottom level of The Precinct, the new interactive museum and retail experience will transport visitors through various eras using “technology, imagery, and storytelling”.

The new Port Store retail space was open throughout the redevelopment through a temporary entrance. Now that the storefront is complete, continue to get your hands on a range of supporter wear, collectables, and casual wear.

The Precinct at Alberton will now be a key part of the club’s AFLW game day experience.
