Performers are the stars as the Royal Adelaide Show returns with revitalised entertainment program

Marking its 245th year, the Royal Show comes with a revitalised entertainment program, thrilling rides, over 400 show bags and a great range of SA products.

After a three-year-long hiatus, the Royal Adelaide Show, presented by Bank SA, returns in 2022 for the greatest reunion of all time.

This year marks Adelaide’s 245th Royal Show and with that comes a completely revitalised entertainment program, thrilling new rides, over 400 show bags and a fine selection of South Australian products, just to name a few.

“With the global pandemic preventing the Royal Adelaide Show from taking place for two years, we wanted to ensure its long-awaited return was nothing short of fabulous,” says Michelle Hocking, Royal Adelaide Show’s General Manager.

“We have amplified every aspect to ensure an amazing experience for all.” In light of live music returning to The Show after 22 years, four brand new stages will host an extensive variety of South Australian and Indigenous artists.

“We are delighted to give local talent the opportunity to perform 135 paid shows across the week. There is an amazing range of musicians, performers and artists for people of all ages to enjoy,” says Michelle.

All of the classic features Showgoers know and love will be on offer for the great return, from farm animals and fresh local produce to try, to thrill-seeking rides and the classic show bags. “The Royal Adelaide Show prides itself on bringing the country to the city.

We are presenting a selection of the best in competitions, including dogs, horses, livestock, cookery and art,” says Michelle.

The Show’s reunion is not only great in size, content and variety, but also in mindfulness. In its commitment to divert all waste consumed on site from landfill, the Show has implemented a system to ensure anything consumed on ground will either be recycled, turned into compost or alternative fuels.

“By simply following the signage at the event and disposing of all waste in the correct bins, patrons are helping the Show on our powerful mission to divert all waste from landfill,” says Michelle.

Run by the not-for-profit organisation, the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of SA, The Show will also direct all proceeds toward supporting South Australia’s primary industries.

The Show will make its return from Saturday, 3rd September until Sunday, 11th September.

Tickets can be pre-purchased from 1st August at theshow.com.au or at any Foodland store to receive a discount.
