The Royal Adelaide Show Wins Big On World Stage!

We love our Royal Adelaide Show and it seems we aren’t the only ones…

The Royal Adelaide Show has won four awards at the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) Awards held in Las Vegas (USA) earlier this month – one of two events from outside the United States and Canada to be recognised at the Awards.

Competing against agricultural shows and fairs from across the world, the 2015 Royal Adelaide Show won first prize in the ‘Promotional Advertising Outdoor’ and ‘Sponsorship Continuity’ categories, as well as third prize in the ‘Television Advertising’ category. In addition, the 2014 Royal Show was runner up for the Best Marketing Campaign section, with California State Fair, which attracted over 780,000 visitors in 2015, winning first prize and Miami Dade Country Fair & Exposition awarded third place.

Recognising excellence in agricultural shows, the prestigious IAFE Awards were presented during the Awards Reception on Saturday 5 December, during the 125th annual IAFE Convention and Trade Show, attracting over 4,500 delegates and attended by RA&HS Chief Executive, John Rothwell. Mr Rothwell is the first and only Australian board member of the IAFE.

Royal Adelaide Show general manager Michelle Hocking said the awards were fitting recognition for the excellent work done by the team at the RA&HS, as well as external Adelaide suppliers such as advertising and design agency WDM, animation and visual effects studio Resin and Mercury Public Relations.

“It’s great to see that the Royal Adelaide Show is up there with the best in the world in terms of how we market and promote the event,” Ms Hocking said.

“Winning the Sponsorship Continuity category is also fabulous recognition for our presenting partner, IGA, who has been a strong supporter of the Show for seven years, along with premier partners Channel Seven and Coca-Cola who are also long-term supporters of the Show.”

Creative director of WDM Adam Moyle said “we have such a great working relationship with the Show team who give us the opportunity to creatively ‘go for it’ each year … we’re very proud of what we’ve been able to achieve together and it’s icing on the cake to have the work recognised internationally… look out California we’ll be back!!”

The International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) is a voluntary, non-profit, membership-based corporation based in Springfield, Missouri (USA) and serves the interests of over 1,200 agricultural fairs, show, exhibitions and expositions worldwide.
