Located in the historic Port Adelaide precinct, the South Australian Maritime Museum preserves, explores and celebrates the human history of our oceans and rivers.

We’ve collated a list of the shows to look out for this Adelaide Fringe season.

“Rhapsody in Chicago Blues” Pianist Tim Barton (17th February)

Tim Barton has always felt privileged to have been raised a musician in Chicago. His earliest influence? Count Basie. His simple, swinging jazz feel appealed to Barton as a child.

His performance highlights include the Ravinia Festival (summer home of the Chicago Symphony),; House of Blues (Chicago), Ragtime pianist in the Nickelodeon Theatre, and Chicago jazz clubs; Andy’s, The Green Mill, played with Joe Henderson, Von Freeman.

Game ON! (18th February & 4th March)

ConFusion quartet present some of the great barbershop moments from your favorite games. Including songs from Bio Shock, Portal, the Fallout series and many more… Those Easter egg moments and tunes that get stuck in your head for days, sung by your very own Adelaide based award winning mixed quartet on a boat! There might also be a sea shanty or two.

South Australian Maritime Museum Curators Guided Tour (22nd February & 10th March)

Join the Maritime Museum team for a special Curator-lead tour of the South Australian Maritime Museum Collection. The tour will be presented by Dr Adam Paterson, Manager Curatorial of the History Trust of South Australia. Dr Paterson will present valuable historical insights of the Maritime Museum collection.

Monsoon June (3rd March)

Monsoon June is comprised of Phil Banytis composer/guitarist, Alex Mcleod saxophone, Spiro Kolovos bass, and Zed Crawford drums. They formed in 2018 playing contemporary, melodic jazz.

Pirates of Penzance (16th March)

ARRGH!! The Pirates are celebrating 10 years!

The Pirate King is back for this hilarious adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic operetta, staged in one hour, with an amazing local cast of eight featuring some of South Australia’s best local performers with live piano accompaniment!
