The SA restaurants Gourmet Traveller has rated the best for the year

Nine South Australian restaurants were included in the top 100 list for the year – including one at number three.

Rundle Street’s Orana has again taken out a top accolade, named best restaurant in Adelaide by Gourmet Traveller.

Their top 100 restaurants of the year were announced in Sydney on Wednesday night, with two Adelaide venues making the coveted top 10.

Orana was rated highest in SA, at third spot, and Magill Estate also made it into the top 10 at number 9.

A further seven South Australian venues made it into the top 100: Botanic Gardens Restaurant (37), Africola (39), d’Arenderg Cube (51), Hentley Farm (52), Shobosho (68), The Pot by Emma McCaskill (79), The Summertown Aristologist (91).

Sydney’s Quay took out top spot in the awards, named Restaurant of the Year, with fellow Sydney venue Momofuku Seiobo in second place.

Josh Niland of Saint Peter in Sydney won the peer-voted Chef of the Year, while the team from Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in Melbourne took out a collective win for Maître d’ of the Year, and Emma Farrelly from Perth’s State Buildings complex won Sommelier of the Year.
