The Sailing Club announced as unofficial afterparty of Clare Valley Gourmet Week

The Sailing Club has been announced as the unofficial afterparty of the highly anticipated Clare Valley Gourmet Festival Weekend.

The Sailing Club is docking in the picturesque Clare Valley as the unofficial afterparty of the highly anticipated Clare Valley Gourmet Festival Weekend.

Dropping its anchor at the Clare Valley Showgrounds on Saturday May 18, the festivities will be running all weekend long from 11am to 11pm both days.

The Sailing Club has a passion for promoting local produce and wanted to provide a space for those looking to continue the gourmet festivities beyond the official festival events, ensuring everyone has ample time to soak up the atmosphere and make the most of the weekend.

“We had noted that there was no afterparty for some years up in Clare, so we approached the Clare Valley Gourmet Week to bring it back,” Co-Owner of the Sailing Club Anna Watson says.

“They were really excited to have us and we are pumped to be a part of it.”

Bringing together community, culture, and culinary excellence, the afterparty will appeal to foodies and music lovers alike.

The Sailing Club will be serving up an Asian-inspired barbecue menu, including dishes like pork and cabbage dumplings, chilli salted squid and loaded Korean fries. Plus, attendees will be able to indulge in a selection of local beers and wines, expertly crafted cocktails, and everything else needed to keep the good times rolling in.

There will be performances from the Brazil Nut Orchestra in the afternoons, bringing a mix of classics infused with Brazilian joy. But the party doesn’t stop there! On Saturday evening, festival-goers can get ready to groove to the nostalgic beats of DJ Driller Jet Armstrong as he spins old-school 90s house music from 6pm onwards.

The Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend attracts thousands of visitors to the region each May and sees a celebration of Australia’s rich culinary heritage and winemaking tradition. This year marks its 40th anniversary as the nation’s first and oldest food and wine festival.

The combination of the Clare Valley Gourmet Festival Weekend and The Sailing Club’s unofficial afterparty promises a delightful experience for locals and visitors alike.

“It’s about providing a space not only for visitors for the weekend, but also for the locals too,” Anna Watson says.

“We are really excited, and really want to push the fact that we’re there for Clare, and we’re really excited to offer something for people to kick on and enjoy the weekend.”
