Another popular beachside fireworks display has been cancelled

Whilst the council still hopes to proceed with many of the Summer events it has planned, the New Year’s Eve fireworks isn’t feasible with the current social distancing requirements.

The Port Adelaide Enfield council have announced the cancellation of the New Year’s Eve fireworks at Semaphore due to COVID-19.

Whilst the council still hopes to proceed with many of the Summer events it has planned, the New Year’s Eve fireworks isn’t feasible with the current social distancing requirements, which still may be in place for events.

This news follows the cancelling of the New Year’s fireworks display at Glenelg and Brighton due to COVID-19 and SA Health requirements.

The City Council also announced the cancellation of the Elder Park fireworks earlier this month due to the ongoing pandemic.

Despite this latest fireworks cancellation, there is still hope for families who are keen to have some fun at the beach this New Year’s Eve.

The council is currently looking into other more COVIDSafe activities that locals could potentially partake in at Semaphore to help ring in the new year.

More to come.
