Looking for a fun adventure this Spring, with the added bonus of markets, music, and more? Look no further than the annual Semaphore Street Fair on November 24th. Held annually on the last Sunday of November, this free and family-friendly event attracts around 55,000 visitors to Semaphore Road and offers a memorable day for all involved.
On the day, Semaphore Road will be closed to traffic and brought to life with festival atmosphere, markets, food and drinks, and all-day entertainment. There’s truly something for everyone, with approximately 350 market stalls selling handmade arts and crafts, up cycled trinkets, or vintage fashion among other potential scores. There will also be a variety of South Australian producers offering gin, wine, and beer to sample or purchase.
One of the main attractions will be the yellow brick road marked along Semaphore’s bustling main road. Instead of finding scarecrows, tin-men, and cowardly lions, the first 400 primary school-aged kids to walk along it will receive a range of gifts from different vendors along the way.
In addition to the marketplace, there will be live music, pop-up performances, and roving street performers to keep the delightful festive spirit pumping strong throughout the day. It’s the stimulating atmosphere the fair brings to the neighbourhood that has made it famous and attracted so many visitors over the years.
Organised by the Semaphore Mainstreet Association, the Kate Smith Property Semaphore Street Fair is an annual event supported by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Council and local businesses. Keep an eye on the Semaphore Street Fair Facebook page for updates as more information is revealed closer to the date.
For the ideal family-friendly time to round off spring and welcome the sunny holiday season, head down to Semaphore on Sunday, November 24th for the Street Fair, destined to be a delightful day by the sea.
