The smash-hit circus cabaret Rouge is set to dazzle Adelaide Fringe audiences one last time with its eighth and final season in 2025. Performing in The Moa, this “circus for grown-ups” promises a swansong season packed with the thrilling, subversive, and sexy energy that has made it a Fringe favourite over the years.
Rouge has captivated audiences worldwide since its debut at Gluttony in 2018, and won Best Circus Show at the 2020 Adelaide Fringe. The show has graced stages in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, London, and Edinburgh. Still, despite its global success, Rouge has always remained loyal to its Adelaide Fringe roots, returning to Gluttony each year.
“It’s been absolutely amazing having this show and its incredibly talented casts step up on stage year after year, at Gluttony and around Australia,” shared Elena Kirschbaum, creator of Rouge and director of Highwire Entertainment.
“There’s clearly a lot of love for this sexy circus cabaret with heart. We kept thinking ‘this has to be its final year’, but then it would sell so well again that we thought we might as well bring it back.
“However, 2025 well and truly will be its final year. So if you’ve seen it, loved it, and would like to see it one last time, this is the season to book your tickets to Rouge – and if you haven’t yet seen Rouge, this is your final chance.”
Adding to the allure of its farewell season, each week will feature a different returning special guest from Rouge’s past, showcasing unique acts to delight long-time fans and newcomers alike. In addition, this year Rouge will have three brand new acts, joining the old favourites, that have never been seen before by Adelaide audiences.
Highwire Entertainment, the company behind Rouge, will also be presenting other exciting shows at Gluttony during Adelaide Fringe 2025.
These include ‘Primal’, which is an exploration of identity, sexuality, and human relationships through aerial artistry, fire performances, burlesque, and song, ‘Shake It’, a cabaret and burlesque showcase hosted by singer Minnie Andrews, ‘Mission to the Moon’, a space-themed circus show for kids aged 4-9, and ‘Rouge & Primal present: An Afternoon Delight’, a one-off fundraiser lineup show on Saturday 1 March at 3:15pm, with “pay what you can afford” ticket options.
As Rouge prepares to take its final bow, audiences are encouraged to secure their tickets early for this unmissable celebration of circus, cabaret, and sensual spectacle.
