While summer may be officially over, it doesn’t mean the joy of a summery drink has to be.
Adelaide-based small batch brewery, The Suburban Brew, are supporting local and adding a limited release of Pikes Beer Company’s Mandarin Berliner Weisse sour to their range.
The beer has all the summery notes you love; tart and citrusy, it’s the perfect refreshing beer that has hints of summer to be enjoyed throughout autumn.
Pike’s created the beer using the zest from their estate-grown mandarins, adding the fruit late to the boil making it a deliciously sour brew.
This new addition in The Suburban Brew’s taproom will sit alongside eight other taps, four of which include the brewery’s core range, and the others are ever-changing seasonal beers.
Previously a gypsy brewery without a physical home, The Suburban Brew now resides on Goodwood Road and is the hub for local beer enthusiasts.
Suburban Brew’s brewer, Tony Dichiera, had a vision to create a craft beer brand that is a part of its community, and actually listens to consumer feedback to create beer for their drinkers.
The brewery’s mission has been around since its creation, starting as a way to get to know his neighbours a little more, he brought over his home-brewed beer as a conversation starter.
His slogan “Love thy neighbour, love their beer” was born.
Since then, this sentiment has been the heart of the business ever since, it’s focus always on the people who drink the beer.
While you try the limited edition beer on offer, you may also like their classics; the No. 2 Pale Ale, the beer where it all began, an approachable beer with notes of orange and grapefruit, the Flat 5 English Special, a strong malty backbone with fruity notes, and their 3/92 Black IPA, a velvety dark Porter with a grassy mash of stone fruits.
