While we’re all pretty devastated that the mad March season is now coming to an end, we’re also super pumped for all the events that are set to hit Adelaide in April. While it seems a lot of things are ending in March, next month you’ll still get your fair share of festivals, music gigs, and interactive markets, so we’re sure you’ll keep busy.
Luckily for everyone, we’ve compiled a list of all the top events happening around Adelaide this coming April, so you can get ahead and start planning now!
1. April 29 – May 8 – Tasting Australia
Steady your glasses, ready your plates, and gather your sense – Tasting Australia is set to return! As one of the country’s most successful and long-running food and wine festivals, tasting Australia has continued to evolve and offers up Adelaide as the launchpad to an unforgettable experience that’ll leave you hungry for more. This is the place to soak up the charred flavours and aromas of Town Square and is a must-experience around Adelaide this April.
2. April 2 – New Shoots Music Festival, Kangaroo Island
To be held at Penneshaw Oval on Kangaroo Island, this is South Australia’s newest Music Festival. Excited to be back in action after having to postpone its November date due to Covid-19 restrictions, the festival is sure to be a banger! With an incredible line-up get your hands on a ticket now! You can even make a big weekend of it and visit the Farmers’ market held the same weekend to promote local produce and business. This festival was created in the spirit of supporting locals, with a portion of all ticket and merchandise sales going to the charities BlazeAid and Breakthrough Foundation.

3. April 2 – 3 – Arkaroola Under The Stars
Plan a romantic night under the stars. Enjoy an outdoor gourmet dining experience with a musical theatre show at the breathtaking Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary. With Rachel Beck and David Hobson accompanied by the acclaimed Musical Director and pianist Kym Purling and the brilliant Sarah Straschko, the night will be an absolute dream. 4. April 1 – 3 – Wellness Wander
A weekend-long event in the Adelaide Hills, choose from more than 75 unique events and experiences scheduled across the region giving wellness seekers plenty to choose from to help them escape, unwind, relax and refresh. Think yoga, sip and paint, mandala drawing and journaling. Some events run over the course of a day while others are longer, overnight happenings giving you a chance to really unwind. 5. April 9 – Sounds By The River, Mannum
Sounds by the River, the award-winning concert is back. Featuring a plethora of powerhouse performers like the Hunters & Collectors, James Reyne, The Living End and the Angels, this show delivers an unforgettable day. So pack a deck chair and picnic rug and sit back to enjoy a festival day at the impressive Mannum Golf Club.

6. April 2 – New Orleans in the Vines
Leconfield & Richard Hamilton Wines are celebrating New Orleans Music and Food just around the corner, and are inviting you to join them. With some of South Australia’s best wines and beers and New Orleans style food like Gumbo, Jambalaya, Poh Boys, Red Beans and Rice, Fried Chicken and Tater tots on offer you can’t possibly say no. Plus live music from New Orleans Funk Express and The Atlantic Street Band you can get groovy with your dance moves and have a blast!

7. April 8 – 10 – Burgerlicious 2022
This April Morphettville Racecourse is transforming into the ultimate burger joint for one weekend only. With crowd favourites such as Gang Gang, Burgertec, Rik’s Grill, Nugg Lyf and more, the event is one you won’t want to miss. A bar will be readily stocked with your favourites from Forage Supply Co, Seppeltsfield Rd Distillers and Brewboys, so there’s guaranteed to be something that tickles your fancy. 8. April 2 – Vale Polo McLaren Vale
Enjoy a day at the Polo is the beautiful McLaren Vale. Only the best McLaren Vale hospitality, fashion and entertainment will be found. For those looking for a family-friendly option, General Admission offers an environment suitable for children, but for those looking to be a little boujee take a look at the Club McLaren or the Private Marquees. 9. April 9 – Autumn Twilight @ TAPANAPPA
Tiers Vineyard is turning a beautiful golden hue. Opening their Cellar Door up, you can join them in watching the beautiful colours of sunset. To create a full experience the Cellar Door will be open from 4 to 7 pm, so you can indulge in the wines they offer and the delicious platters filled with local produce. Make sure you pack your camera to capture the beauty of the evening and the changing seasons.
10. April 29 – Pure
The nation’s techno event of the year is returning for its fifth year. Presented and curated by Carl Cox, Eric, Powell and Richie McNeill the event showcases the sounds of future techno in a sensory awakening. Dance music fans this event is made just for you. The old school rave atmosphere ensures you experience the true zest of techno music. With the Berlin-based soundscape of Tale Of Us, poetic and emotional limitations are broken, and new levels of connection are forged.

April 1 – April Forks Day!
Head on down to Lockleys Oval Friday, April 1 for a day full of family-friendly activities! With fifteen of Adelaide’s best food trucks on-site, there’s something for every member of the family to feast upon. The Fork Bar will be set up alongside a trendy espresso martini fan, we can’t think of a better way to spend your April Forks Day!

April 1 – Langhorne Creek x The Lab Tasting
If you’re after an immersive tasting experience, look no further than The Lab on Light Square this April. Featuring an impressive 14 wineries all from the Langhorne Creek region the event gives you access to a three-hour wine tasting experience. The afternoon will give you the chance to unwind while the experts onsite entertain you with their knowledge about one of Australia’s top wine regions.

April 1 – 3 – Strawberry Provenance Experience
Have a peek into Beerenberg’s new visitor experience/cafe and demonstration kitchen. The team there is inviting you to join them for a walk through their strawberry farm, to pick your own strawberries and learn some new recipes from their chef’s cooking demonstration. You’ll enjoy a 3-course lunch featuring strawberries in every dish and you’ll even get a goodie bag to take home with you. That the day off for a stroll through the strawberry patches and a good feed, it’s worth it.

April 3 – 5 – Green Brick Road, a vegan food trail
Jump on the Green Brick Road and order from as many participating food joints as your heart desires. This is an opportunity to support small businesses and devour food that speaks to your soul. No meal is left out, you can join for breakfast, lunch, dinner and any meal between, this event is about capturing and showcasing the growing vegan food market in Adelaide. Time to take a wander and follow the Green Brick Road to the vegan food of dreams.

April 5 – Crowded House
The iconic Crowded House will be bringing their Australian Tour to Adelaide for one night as part of their ‘dreamers are waiting’ tour. For the first time in eleven years, the band will be taking over Adelaide’s Entertainment Centre, so it’s safe to say fans are ecstatic.

April 6 – The Impact Awards
This is an event that brings South Australian businesses together and celebrates their successes. The goal is to connect the businesses of South Australia with their global competitive companies, giving them a leg up and helping them to accelerate. April 8-10 – Cellar Door Fest Distillery Edit
Cellar Door Fest is expanding its calendar to introduce its brand new Distillery Edit this April. In celebration of SA’s renowned spirit industry, the team will be bringing you over forty different distilleries from across SA. The event will take place at the Adelaide Convention Centre, and will feature complimentary tastings, exclusive masterclasses and even a Fever-Tree cocktail bar.

April 9 – Jessica Mauboy
The Australian singer-songwriter icon is bringing her Australian tour ‘the boss lady’ to the Adelaide Festival Centre this April. Hype yourself up for a night full of her smash hits and be ready to party like it’s 2008. April 10 – Yin & Gin
Prohibition Liquor Co. and Roaming Zen are collaborating to bring you a relaxing morning filled with yoga and gin. The event will kick off at 10 am with the team from Roaming Zen taking you through an hour-long restorative yoga session followed by a flight of Prohibition gin flight. April 14 – Wild Life Photographer of the Year
On loan from the Natural History Museum in London, this world-renowned exhibition will be taking over the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. The exhibition features stunning images which capture landscapes, exceptional flora and landscapes. This magnificent display of photojournalism brings a new opportunity to SA.
April 15 – Aunty Donna
The loved comedic trio will be heading to Adelaide this April to take over the iconic Thebarton Theatre for one night only. Following the success of their Netflix show ‘Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun’, the crew are back in Australia and hitting the road for a jam-packed tour. April 15 – ‘Wines and Good Times’ Good Friday Garden Party
Head on down to the National Wine Centre for the ultimate Good Friday garden party this April long weekend. The team have selected the best SA has to offer with a stacked lineup of local DJs, the night is set to include a whole lot of dancing. The breakbeat showdown, Touch Bass is finally back after its initial postponement in 2020, and with a stacked international lineup, it’s going to get wild! April 15 – 18 – Easter Long Weekend

Kick-off Easter with the soulful tunes of Jo Amputch and a mouth-watering menu supplied by Bao Plus at Koonowla Wines. Fusing Korean and Japanese food together, don’t miss the delicious gourmet bao buns, or if Bao buns don’t tickle your fancy you can munch on a slice of pizza. April 16-18 – Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival
This event has been one of SA’s premier social and sporting occasions for the past almost 150 years, so it comes as no surprise that this is one of the most highly anticipated events happening in April. This is a time to bring your own picnics, barbies, and set up camp to soak up that unique country racing atmosphere. There’s also a stack for the kids to do with rides, a petting zoo, face painting, and more!
April 17 – Easter Garden Sunday Session
Absorb the sounds of Him & Her tunes live and ease into Easter Sunday with a glass of Pike’s wine or a cold beer in hand. A delicious menu to be enjoyed by all will be supplied by Luke and his Daisy Burger food truck. You’ll be able to lounge on the lawn with your drink in one hand and tastebud tantalizing burger in the other. The kids will be entertained by the preprepared lawn games, keeping them out of Mum and Dad’s hair, if only for a couple of hours.
April 17 – Sofitel Easter Sunday Buffet
Stretch out those pinky fingers and get ready for the high tea experience of your life. Book in for an extravagant Easter feast at Sofitel this Easter season. Festival Drink Curator Nick Stock will be presenting guests with an assortment of different pink fizz to pair with each course.
