It’s almost time, Adelaide – 2021 approaches and we’ve never been more relieved for the positivity and excitement that comes with a new year.
Global pandemic aside, Adelaide is still pretty set on having a fabulous New Year’s Eve, paired with bubbles, excellent food, music, and (COVID-safe) celebrations well into the night.
With travel looking quite different this year, we’re sure that’s left a lot of people without plans for New Year’s Eve, And in typical Adelaide fashion, we’re also sure lots of our readers have left planning to the last minute.
Well don’t fear, we’ve compiled a list of a heap of SA venues hosting New Year’s Eve events.

Spend NYE at 2KW with six courses of 2KW’s signature dishes by Executive Chef Trent Lymn, who is pulling his favourite recipes from the archives to curate a menu showcasing the best of 2KW through the years.
You’ll also be welcomed with a glass of Pol Roger champagne.
Join the Arkaba’s NYE White Party Dinner & Show including a two course menu and three hour drinks package. With their famous balloon drop at midnight and party tunes all night by the Mr Buzzy seven Piece Big Band, plus party DJ. Dress to impress in white style glamour because prizes will be awarded!

Celebrate the turn of the year with Bird Box Pizzeria and Tapas’ brilliant New Year’s Eve package featuring a seasonal menu at $115 per person.

Due to popular demand The Gatsby Lounge will be opening on New Year’s Eve with a brilliant package. For $99 get their famous six course executive chefs set menu plus unlimited premium drinks for 1.5 hours; 5:45pm and 7:30pm seating. Alternatively, for $99 get unlimited premium drinks from 9pm-12am with bar food. Some selection of their scrumptious Canapes/bar menu included. All drinks are premium base spirits, beer, house red and white wine.

2020 has been such a terrible year for everyone, so tell it to f*** off with a little bit of a Cheeky time at El Cheeky Flamingo. $3 shots every hour leading up until midnight for 15 minutes starting from 5:00pm. They’ll have some of the worst tracks from 2020 playing – followed by some of the all time best tracks to ring in a New Year for all.

The Mile End turns a whopping 180 on New Year’s Eve. Celebrate their milestone birthday, as well as the end of 2020 and the start 2021. The Stamford Grand Adelaide Hotel in Glenelg urges you to “welcome the New Year in style” at its four-course wine dinner. The venue teamed up with Hentley Farm Wines to host the booking-required event, which is described as classy and delicious, in its grand ballroom.
For $165 a person, guests will receive a glass of sparkling wine and four courses, each of which comes paired with a complimentary glass of Hentley Farm wine.

Say goodbye to 2020 and bring in 2021 with icy cold beers and cocktails at the Strath. Their bar is open until 3am so they’ve got your NYE drinks covered.

Kick into the new year with a concert! Summer Sounds Festival is bringing an epic lineup of artists to Bonython Park for a slew of concerts and Timmy Trumpet is taking you to 2021.
Patrons will have the choice of booking a VIP, Gold or Silver Party Pod. Each pod is an island oasis for a group of four or six people and decked out with its own esky of pre ordered drinks and tasty snacks.
Summer Sounds is taking place in Bonython Park, Adelaide.
Be greeted with a glass of Champagne as you step out onto the Terrace and take in the spectacular 270-degree views from the hills to the coast at Sol’s rooftop bar.
Explore the space and find your spot for the night (seating and standing room available), with a selection of roaming canapes and snacks served throughout the night curated by Head Chef Kane Pollard.

If you’re looking for a place to pre-drink or keep your New Years low-key this year, Torrens Arms have you covered with live music in the courtyard from Nick Deegan, $6 pints 5-7pm and $10 espresso martinis all night. They’ll also have their usual $15 Steak night and a bunch of other drinks specials.

Celebrate the turn of the year at the stunning Windy Point Restaurant with their New Year’s Eve celebration. Expect a nine course degustation including premium beverages, paired with one of the best views in Adelaide.

NEW YEAR’S DAY
There’s so much to love about Port Adelaide café and corner store The Banksia Tree, not least of which is their bold announcement that January 1 will be renamed ‘Bloody Mary Day’ this year. Priced at a very reasonable $30, which gets you one Bloody Mary and a fresh lobster roll from the Banksia Tree’s well-repped kitchen, the event will kick-off at 9am and continue until 2pm – perfect for those looking to make a day of it, or just continue the fun from the previous night!
Come spend New Year’s Day enjoying SA’s best food, wine and cocktails out on the lawns at the National Wine Centre. DJs will be playing disco and house vibes along with live vocalist and percussionist from 2pm – 9pm.
Previously held on a rooftop bar, the popularity of this annual gig has forced a move to the even more flash National Wine Centre on the corner of Botanic and Hackney Road.
The perfect setting to kick up your heels and feel all your favourite house and disco tunes deep in your soul, the event features a Tasting Plate from the awesome Wine Centre chefs and a complimentary beverage on arrival.
Set out on the lawn at the wine centre, there will be throw rugs to spread out on as you take in live vocal and percussive sets between DJs.

UPDATE: Wines & Good Times have now sold out of food packages and now only have a limited amount of $50 + free drink tickets left. Venue has a fully stocked bar, gourmet foods and the option to buy full bottles of wines and champagnes.
Big night New Years Eve plans? Suburban Brew have got your recovery sorted! They’ll be open from midday till 6pm to ease you into 2021. Sam will be on the decks for the day, spinning disks so come on down, the beers will be pouring, the tunes will singing and lets get 2021 kicked off in style!
