The Umeewarra Downtown Aboriginal Music Festival is back in Port Augusta this March, bringing with it a day and night of exceptional talent, art, energy, and community spirit. The much-anticipated festival is slated to set the Barracks ablaze on Saturday March 15th from 2pm, promising an unforgettable experience with a stellar lineup of performers, headlined by the sensational Troy Cassar Daley and DEM MOB.
This free celebration, packed with live performances, delicious food, and activities that showcase the very best of local culture, is a chance to come together, connect, and experience the diverse voices and creativity of community.

Joining hip hop group DEM MOB and legendary country music songwriter Troy Cassar Daley on the lineup is award-winning musician and 2025 Adelaide Fringe Ambassador Nancy Bates, Narungga/Adnyamathanha country music singer-songwriter Warren Milera, and the multi-generational Iwiri Choir.
The lineup of performers is rounded out by Eddie Peters, Ellie Lovegrove, Tony Minniecon, Tyson Fielding, Udi Mathanha, Katie Aspel, Rob Edwards, Sonya Rankine, the Red Wing Band, Flinders Country, Sound Factory, and MC Luke Carrol.
The Umeewarra Downtown Music Festival is one of a range of events organised by the Umeewarra Aboriginal Media Association, a dynamic Aboriginal-owned and operated media organisation based in Port Augusta, South Australia. Established in 1986, the organisation has offered vital support and representation for Aboriginal communities, providing platforms for cultural expression, community news, and social advocacy.

Their radio station, Umeewarra 89.1FM, broadcasts music, news, and talk programs that celebrate and inform Aboriginal people, discussing community issues, achievements, and culture. They also support local talent development and youth empowerment through programs like Deadly Democracy, Next Gen Leadership, and smartphone documentary training, ensuring future generations are equipped to tell their stories.
