The University of Adelaide has scored another top 100 world university ranking – in Computer Science, a field critical to South Australia’s economic future.
The latest QS World University Rankings by Subject have now seen the University of Adelaide claim eight top 100 rankings.
To add to the Computer Science ranking they are 11th in the world in Petroleum Engineering, 24th in the world in Mineral and Mining Engineering, 34th in Dentistry, 49th in Veterinary Science, 74th in Agriculture and Forestry, 86th in Pharmacy and Pharmacology, and 92nd in Accounting and Finance.
In total, 40 of the University of Adelaide’s subject areas have been listed in the latest QS rankings, placing the University of Adelaide as equal 5th among Australia’s universities.
“This is an excellent result, continuing the University of Adelaide’s consistent performance among the top universities in the world,” says Professor Peter Hoj AC, Vice-Chancellor and President.
“The University of Adelaide has a very strong research presence in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and cybersecurity. I am especially pleased to see these world rankings providing further recognition for those fields, which are critical to South Australia’s economy, to future-facing jobs and industries.”
