The Victor Harbor Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival is Back for Another Rockin’ Year!

Rock ‘n’ roll is not dead! After COVID-19 forced the Victor Harbor Festival Committee to cancel the event in 2020-2021, it is swinging back to our lives with a lovable ode to the retro and the vintage in life!

Pop on your blue suede shoes and your swankiest retro skirt, the Victor Harbor Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival is back after two painful years without this adoring event! Boasting a dance floor, various market stalls and businesses with retro and vintage memorabilia coupled with beautiful coastal views of the Fleurieu Peninsula in the bloom of Spring, it’s no wonder this event is so popular.

Located in Warland Reserve, the central hub of Victor Harbor, South Australia’s revival of the 1950s popular culture is showcased through an interactive event for the young at heart and old souls alike! What will draw you in is the sound of a newly mainstream genre of rhythm ‘n’ blues popularised by the inclusion of swing influences and iconic voices. That jivey sound pairs perfectly with the main attraction of vintage cars from the 1950s.

Many of us may only see those cars at Glenelg at the park by the Marina Pier, most South Australians are familiar with the presence of vintage and retro vehicles. However, the Rock ‘n’ Roll festival is where they really shine. Organised by the Historic Motors Club of the Fleurieu Peninsula, showcasing the history of automotive transportation is at the forefront of the festival, with an emphasis on the preservation of original vehicle parts. There is no better place to go if you want to find the iconic car driven by the Ant Hill Mob in Wacky Races!

The entrancing atmosphere of ‘the time that was’ is further portrayed by all the vintage fashion the great people of the community showcase! A dapper man in a three-piece suit, with mutton chops and a fedora dancing with his gal in a polka dot flared skirt and a beehive updo to the bright music of The Cadillacs and The Satelites (Just two of the bands booked to perform at the festival) is a sight to behold, set to make any bystander start swinging their hips!
