The X FactorThe world’s biggest singing competition is on it way to Australia – The X Factor is coming to Channel Seven in 2010 and will be on the hunt for South Australian talent on Wednesday, June 2. Go to www.xfactortv.com.au to download your application form.

Seven has announced the four high calibre judges and mentors who will decide if contestants have the ‘X Factor’ – Kyle Sandilands, Natalie Imbruglia, Ronan Keating and South Australia’s own Guy Sebastian.

Created by Simon Cowell, The X Factor is the hottest TV franchise around the globe – having enjoyed its most successful series in the UK last year, and about to launch into the US next year.

The X Factor is open to singers of all ages – either solo performers or groups. Once through the final audition process, the four judges will take on mentoring roles, as the performers are split into categories – Boys under 25, Girls under 25, the over 25s and the Groups.

This will culminate with a huge weekly live show, where the singers will battle it out in front of the judges and the Australian public. The ultimate winner will be rewarded with a recording contract with Sony Music Australia.

Since its first UK series in 2004, The X Factor has established itself as the world’s leading singing talent search – successfully launching into over 20 territories, including Sweden, Russia, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Italy and Germany.

Winning contestants include Leona Lewis, who won the 2006 X Factor competition in the UK – she has gone on to become a multi-platinum artist across Europe, the US and Australia. Her debut album ‘Spirit’ sold over 6.5 million copies globally.
