The quaint little theatre at Tea Tree Players comes alive in this ‘star-studded’ comedy presented by junior and youth theatre performers. 2061 A Space Idiocy is a spoof/parody of, you guessed it, space themed shows and although not technically perfect, it is a joy to watch as young budding stars of tomorrow deliver gags a plenty and even the occasional song and dance number.

Directed by Penny and Michaela Phillips, the little theatre was impressively transformed into the bridge of a space ship where most of the action occurs. The young cast looked great in their costumes put together by the lovely Jo Allenby and her Monday club, and each young performer held their own both collectively and in their solo moments.

What is most encouraging is the level of energy, commitment and dedication that these kids show on stage. For many this is their first experience performing in front of a live audience, which is not an easy task for even the bravest of souls let alone children aged between 8-16!

This is the perfect kind of show for the school holidays, so be quick and take the family to see it before the short season finishes this weekend.
