Adelaide Youth Theatre productions are not only a great way to encourage, nurture, and support young people wanting to develop their craft in musical theatre, but also to inspire more young people to get involved. Adelaide Youth Theatre should be commended for this, and for the great work they produce.
Their most recent production of Frozen Jr is no exception. With a young but very talented cast and production team, it really was a joy to watch this cast get as much enjoyment out of the show as their audience did. And what a great show for a youth cast to do. Destined to be regarded as a classic forever, Let It Go is going to outlive us all.
Using a very basic but effective set, and pre-recorded backing music, Director Taylor Tran and Musical Directors Serena Cann and Louis Cann have allowed this cast to shine. Alessia Charman’s choreography was fun and original too.
With a string of great successes behind them, I very much look forward to whatever Adelaide Youth Theatre treats us to next. Congratulations to all involved, especially those youngest members of the cast who are beginning a journey that they have clearly fallen in love with.
