There’s A Great South Aussie BBQ Cook Off At Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market

Are you the king or queen of BBQ cuisine? Want to test your skills against former Masterchef contestants? Then register your team for the Great South Aussie BBQ Cook Off!

The Adelaide Showgroung Farmers’ Market are looking for South Australia’s best BBQ cooks! If you fancy yourself as the king or queen of BBQ cuisine, why not get a team together to enter the Great South Aussie BBQ Cook Off at Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market in March?

During the first four weeks of March, four teams will compete each Sunday in preliminary heats to win a place in the grand final on Sunday, 29 March!

Each team of three people will be given $30 to spend at the Farmers’ Market that morning to create a single serving of delicious food. Headed by chef Kane Pollard of Topiary, the panel of judges will then select one team each week to progress to the grand final.

You can be any kind of cook to take part and showcase the amazing food at Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market. Whether you’re a traditional sausage sizzler or an imaginative vegan, fusion food influenced or inspired by other cultures, this would be an awesome opportunity to show off what you can cook up.

What’s more, the winning team will score their charity, club, or organisation a brand new Heatlie BBQ valued at $1,448.00!

Did we mention that two South Australia former Masterchef contestants have already entered teams? If you want too cook up against Ben Trobbiani (for CanDo:4Kids) and Mandy Hall (for Food Bank SA) and get a little taste of what it’s like to be on a hot shot cooking show, now’s your chance!

The Great South Aussie BBQ Cook Off is just one of the weekly attractions at Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market. With free entry and over 100 stalls selling the very best produce in the state fresh from the farm, the market is a great morning out for foodies.

Meet friends for breakfast at Poh’s JamFace stall or enjoy a coffee, pick up locally grown flowers, artisanal bread, free range eggs and much more, straight from the locals who grow it, raise it, make it, and bake it. Just the way we like it!
