There’s A Medieval Fair Happening In Adelaide This Weekend

The Gumeracha Medieval Fair will be celebrating all things medieval this weekend.

Returning back this weekend for its 12th annual year, the Gumeracha Medieval Fair will be celebrating all things medieval with entertainment, stalls and performers.

Expect nothing less than finery and fanfare over this upcoming weekend in the Adelaide Hills town of Gumeracha. The event promises to be even bigger than the 14,000 crowd that attended last year.

Fair go-oers can expect to be transported back to the olden days as Medieval Reenactment Groups (re-enactors are coming from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne) will be roaming around as well as in certain areas such as the ‘combat arena’ where knights and vikings will be bringing out their swords in tournaments, attempting to defeat their opponents.

Dress for the occasion, you’ll stand out if you’re the only punter not in medieval garb. Expect to see working blacksmiths, potters, weavers, musicians, and maybe even have a go at archery. You can get lost among the market alleyways and purchase some items for later.

There’ll be stalls for food, we’re hoping in theme with ye olden days. We don’t expect wild boar but we’d be thrilled. You can’t leave empty handed either with a huge market present, perfect for knick knacks which you probably don’t need but probably will buy.

Book your tickets online to save time at gates, which open at 10:00am on each day, and close at 5:00pm Saturday and 4:00pm Sunday.

Location: Federation Park, Albert Street, Gumeracha
When:
Saturday 4 May 2019 at 10am to 5pm
Sunday 5 May 2019 at 10am to 4pm
