Given how gin-obsessed we are as a state, we’re thinking that maybe 8 June, World Gin Day, should become a national holiday. All those in favour?
We know our friends at The Kentish would be in favour, because they’re hosting For The Love Of Gin — an event designed for gin lovers by gin lovers featuring gin lovers on the day dedicated to lovin’ on gin!
There will be live gin cocktail demonstrations (see, drinks can be educational), take home gifts and prizes, and tastings from some of the world’s best gin distilleries. And, yes, we’re talking 5Nines Distilling, 23rd Street Distillery, Never Never Distilling Co., Ginscato, as well as And Molotov, a local cocktail smoking business… we’re intrigued.
While you’re going from tasting to tasting, you’ll also be munching on treats from a grazing platter and listening to some live tunes. There’s also a range of door-prize prizes up for grabs including an at home smoking kit and gin from the distilleries mentioned.
With tickets selling for only $20, it’s a great way to celebrate one of our favourite dates on the calendar.
