Dreams have become a reality for Credit Union SA’s Eliza Pryce and Beyond Bank Australia’s Fred Storbeck, who were today officially crowned 2015 Credit Union Christmas Pageant Queen and King at the Winter Wonderland ice rink in Moseley Square, Glenelg.

The credit union employees are now looking forward to the whirlwind of festive duties that come with their new royal status, ahead of Pageant Day on November 14.

This year’s Credit Union Christmas Pageant Queen Eliza, 30, said the crowning was not only a dream come true but also an opportunity to fulfil her father’s vision.

“My father, who sadly passed away, used to tell me I would be Queen one day, so this is truly a dream come true. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to not only share this experience with South Australian families, but also to fulfil my father’s vision,” said Queen Eliza.

Credit Union Christmas Pageant King Fred, 27, said he is excited to be King and can’t wait to spread the joy of Christmas to South Australian families.

“The Credit Union Christmas pageant is a special event where families are brought together to celebrate the beginning of Christmas,” King Fred said.

“Having moved to South Australia later in life, I first experienced the Credit Union Christmas Pageant as an adult. It was a really memorable experience for me, as there is nothing like it where I’m from. I am really excited to be this year’s King.”

Credit Union Christmas Pageant Company Chair, Peter Evers, announced Eliza and Fred as the 2015 Credit Union Christmas Pageant Queen and King at a crowning ceremony at the Winter Wonderland ice rink this morning (Thursday 16 July) at 10.40am.

“The Credit Union Christmas Pageant is for the whole community and this year’s Royal Family will continue to engage the entire South Australian community through their regional tour and school performances,” Mr Evers said.

The Credit Union Christmas Pageant Queen and King are chosen by a panel of judges to assist in spreading the joy of Christmas to the community of South Australia.
