By now, we are all well aware that South Australia is pretty obsessed with gin — and it’s no wonder, because we’ve got some amazing distillers.
Amongst those is Kangaroo Island Spirits. Affectionally known as KIS, they were one of Australia’s first dedicated gin distillers, producing handcrafted spirits and liqueurs inspired by the unique botanicals available on Kangaroo Island.
Needless to say, they know their stuff — and now is your chance to learn from their experience! KIS is teaming up with Stamford Grand Adelaide to bring you a series of gincredible events.
Whether you’re into blending or just interested in drinking, there’s a little something for every gin fan!
Gin Blending Masterclass
Saturday, 27th April 2019 | 7pm – 9pm | $126pp
Imagine looking over the sparkling, blue sea of Glenelg beach, while one of the wonderful Kangaroo Island Spirit team teaches you all about blending your own gin! Perfection.
And that’s exactly what you’ll get to do in this intimate event at the Stamford Grand Adelaide.
The two-hour master class includes:
- Single botanical distillates and blending and measurement equipment (everything you need to make your own gin).
- A 200ml bottle of your blend to take home.
- A 50ml G&T after the class to enjoy the fruits of your labour!
- Priceless expertise from the KIS host.
Quick tip: you’ll want to organise a designated driver for this one, as the afternoon involves approx. four standard drinks.

Gin Tasting Event

Here you have a rare opportunity to sample the delicious and exceptional gin from Kangaroo Island Spirits in the lovely Horizons Cocktail Lounge at Stamford Grand Adelaide.
Experiment with samples of the gins and explore combinations of tonics and garnishes with an expert from Kangaroo Island Spirits. And that’s not all — you’ll also pair your G&Ts with tasty canapes!

Gin Tasting Board
1st April – 30th September 2019 | $29pp
If you can’t make it to either of the events above, Stamford Grand Adelaide are hosting a range of Kangaroo Island Spirits until Spring. For $29 per person, sample three gins from the KIS range, featuring tonic water and garnishes!
The experience is available in the Horizons Cocktail Lounge from 1 April – 30 September and in the Grand Bar from 1 April – 30 April.
