There’s A Rare Opportunity To Get Up Close and Personal With The Melbourne Cup Trophy

Thanks to the Victoria Racing Club, a lucky northern suburbs school is giving people the chance to have a photo with the one and only Lexus Melbourne Cup Trophy.

In a once in lifetime opportunity, the Lexus Melbourne Cup Trophy is making its way to our city on Wednesday 25 September at St Patrick’s Technical College.

This rare experience comes as part of the Victoria Racing Club’s celebration of 100 years of the renowned three-handled trophy design. The occasion provides communities around the nation and the world the opportunity to take a photo with the cup itself, as well as hearing the many stories connected with Australia’s greatest horse race.

With more than 75 communities applying to host the $200,000 Lexus Melbourne Cup Trophy, St Patrick’s Technical College is the only school who has secured one of these prestigious visits.

However, this FREE public event will only be held for an hour between 3pm and 4pm, so there is only a limited amount of time for you to get that all-important snapshot of you holding the golden cup.

The technical college is the only school of its kind in South Australia, offering a trade focused South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) curriculum and award-winning pre apprenticeship training for Year 11 and 12 students.

The renowned trophy will also be travelling to five other countries including, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, China and the UK.

The ‘Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour – Trophy Visit’ will occur next Wednesday 25 September from 3pm-4pm at the St Patrick’s Technical College located at 2-6 Hooke Road, Edinburgh North 5113.
