There’s A Rubber Duck Sports League To Fill The AFL-Shaped Hole In Your Heart

The ADL sees rubber ducks compete in a rather nail-biting water race, with punters able to select a favourite duck and see how they measure out in the water.

With COVID-19 restrictions bringing all sporting events to a halt, it’s likely many of us are suffering from sports withdrawals and are eager to be spectators once again.

Thankfully, the ADL is here to help you get you your sports fix in self-isolation.

The ADL or the Australian Duck League is a league comprising of, yes, rubber ducks.

In the ADL, rubber ducks compete in a rather nail-biting water race, with punters able to select a favourite duck and see how they measure out in the water against the competitors.

There are over eighteen rubber ducks in the league, all of which pay homage to the real AFL teams with punny names like ‘Mallardaide’ and ‘Port Waddleaide’.

The league is commentated by Jacob ‘Bev’ Bevis of The Bev Show, and with over twelve rounds in a season, spectators can support their favourite duck on Facebook every Thursday night at 7:30 AEST.
